Morocco to be banned from the next 2 editions of the African Cup of Nations, says CAF president.

The president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Issa Hayatou told the leading French sports outlet L’Equipe this morning that Morocco will be banned from the next two upcoming editions of the Africa Cup of Nations as a punishment for refusing to host the 2015 edition on schedule.

“We are going to stick to the rules, that means elimination from the next two Nations Cups,” Hayatou told L’Equipe.

“On top of that there will be the financial and moral damages to calculate,” the head of the African soccer body added.
