Rabat, Morocco(TMT)-Three Moroccans have been sentenced to three years in jail for each, after that two of them were caught last week by the Moroccan authorities red-handed having sex in a mechanic shop, in the tiny Moroccan pocket of land Taourirt.
According to local reports, the authorities were contacted by neighbors who suspected that a sexual act between two men was taking place inside a nearby mechanic workshop.
Among the two persons who were having sex is a mechanic, a man in his 40’s who owns the aforementioned mechanic workshop.
The other person was a young man in his early 20’s.
Both were introduced to each other via a mediator, who was also arrested in the post-gaze of the event.
It is worth reminding that homosexuality is strictly forbidden in Morocco, with article 489 of the Moroccan Penal Code criminalizing “lewd or unnatural acts with an individual of the same sex.”
Homosexuality acts in the North African kingdom can be punished with anything from 6 months to 3 years imprisonment and a fine of 120 to 1200 dirhams.
