Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- In the wake of the protests that took place in Casablanca following the leak of various exams in this year’s version of the baccalaureate tests, with all the controversy it sparked on various social media platforms, the Moroccan Ministry of Education issued a communiqué this afternoon in which it said that the Maths test will be retaken on the next Friday in  all the examination centers in the Moroccan Kingdom, “after it initial investigation revealed that the leaks were uploaded on various social media platforms hours before the start of the exam.”

“The Moroccan Ministry of Education has initiated a series of investigations to contain the incident, including contacting all the examination centers in the regions concerned to ensure the smooth running of the baccalaureate examination,” the communiqué added.

While urging the students to take all their remaining exams, The Moroccan Ministry of Education stressed that it will not hesitate to punish harshly anyone involved in the leaks, “to ensure equal opportunities for all candidates.”

It is worth reminding that the Ministry resorted this year to the use of hi-tech devices to detect any use of mobile phones in class, yet apparently, as a reminiscence of the China Great Wall well-known example, it forgot that the human factor is the most important element in any leaks/corruption that may take place, not the high-tech mechanisms deployed to sport cheating cases, meaning that even if you introduce the harshest measures/technology on planet earth, if the personals working for the Ministry are corrupt, then it is like pouring water in the sand.
