Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Another terrorist cell composed of five members, operating in several cities in Morocco, was dismantled yesterday, announced Morocco’s Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ), an offshoot of Morocco’s domestic intelligence agency (DGST), in a statement.
The five individuals were arrested in Smara, Belgraâ and Ait Amira, said the BCIJ.
The statement added that this cell had pledged allegiance to the terrorist group Daech, or ISIS.
The BCIJ added that the arrested elements planned to join the ranks of the Islamic State in Libya through Mauritania, before returning to Morocco to carry out attacks in places of affluence.
