Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The tiny pocket city of Deroua, located near Settat, is again receiving huge media attention in Morocco following the couple who was subject to sextortion by a caid (local aid; Morocco’s Ministry of Interior’s representative), including the husband’s friend, being sentenced this week to jail terms, with the husband getting a one year sentence, the family friend 8 months, and the wife 4 months.

The three will also have to pay 60000 dirhams in compensation for the caid.

The “Caed of Deroua story” story broke last March in Morocco following a video, that was hugely shared, showing a young couple and their friend slapping a caid in his face from time to time, with the husband carrying a hammer, after the caid was “discovered” in an underwear in the bedroom of the young couple.

The caid sextorted the wife after he forced her into signing a corruption statement, which he then used to blackmail her into having sex with him by threatening to jail her husband for 5 years.

The wife, after consulting with other family members, told her husband about the blackmailing, which prompted him to devise an irrefutable piece of proof to free themselves from the caid claws.

The wife walked the Qaed into a trap where she tricked him into believing that her husband had traveled out of town and that she finally accepted his sexual solicitations to save her husband from jail.

As soon as the Caid sneaked into the couple’s bedroom and took off his pants, the husband and a family friend showed up, recording the whole scene and forcing the caed to acknowledge “sextorting” the wife.

The video sparked an outcry in the kingdom, with the couple receiving broad support from mainstream Moroccans.

The Ministry of Interior fired the caid, but this latter resorted to Justice to sue the couple, accusing them of threatening to kill him with a hammer, beating him, and humiliating him.
