Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Sanofi Morocco, shared a communiqué aimed to disclaim the wrong information shared by leading French outlet RFI, which stated in an article that “the Moroccan government bought all stock of Plaquenil that was destined for the Subsaharan African market,” hinting out that Morocco’s move is morally incorrect.

Sanofi Morocco confirmed the fact that the Moroccan government bought all the stock of Plaquenil, but stressed that the aforementioned information from RFI is completely wrong as the company’s license for said products “is limited to selling in the Moroccan market only.”

It is worth reminding that the head of the Moroccan government Saad Eddine El-Othmani said on Twitter a few days ago that “all coronavirus cases in Morocco are treated using a drug made in Morocco, used to treat malaria.”

The head of government was alluding to Sanofi Morocco, located in Casablanca when he said that the product was made in Morocco.
