81,489 arrested in Morocco for violating “state of health emergency” measures

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)-  A statement from the General Directorate of National Security, well-known under its French acronym DGSN, said 4582 persons were arrested yesterday for breaching Morocco’s state of health emergency measures, guidelines taken by the Moroccan authorities to curb COVID-19 in the country.

DSGN also said 1,934 from the aforementioned tally were placed in custody, pending the end of investigations undertaken by competent public prosecutor’s offices.

DSGN announced it has arrested, since the start of the state of health emergency in Morocco, 81,489 people for ignoring the measures taken by the authorities, from which a total of 42,967 were brought before the competent public prosecutor’s offices.
