Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Despite the Moroccan automotive market ending 2019 on a high note in a year deemed one of the best in the market’s history, COVID-19 looks set to turn things around as 2021 looks set to become, for the aforementioned market, the worst year ever.
According to a tally combined by the Association of Importers of Vehicles in Morocco (AIVAM), a mere 1683 vehicles (all types) were sold during the month of April 2020, which represents a historic drop of 86.32%, a record in Morocco.
During the same month last year, 12,305 vehicles were sold.
Last April, only 1240 private cars were sold, while April 2019 posted 10,765 car sales, a decrease of 88.5%, another unwanted record in the history of the Moroccan automotive market.
