Morocco ramping up domestic masks production to 9 million per day

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- According to the Moroccan Minister of Industry Moulay Hafid Lalami, Morocco’s daily face masks production capacity has oscillated in the last few days between 8 million and 9 million, up by 2 million from figures from last week.

An important chunk of the aforementioned tally is intended for the European market nevertheless, estimated to hover around 50%.

Lalami stressed that the export ceiling is 50% and cannot be exceeded.

One month ago, Morocco had a daily production capacity of 5 million face masks, while 2 weeks ago the figure had reached 7 million.
