Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Moroccan TV shows have been overshadowed by Turkish shows dubbed in Moroccan dialect for the last few years.

However, this may change in the future, as Moroccan TV dramas are now being translated into the Syrian dialect and shown on Arabic TV channels.

The Sharjah channel, based in the United Arab Emirates, has taken the lead by airing the Moroccan TV series “Banat Al Asas” with Syrian dubbing – a first for Moroccan productions.

The show’s scriptwriter, Bouchra Malik, expressed her happiness with the broadcasting of Moroccan TV shows on Arab channels, which she considers “an important step in opening up new markets.”

Driss Roukhe, the director of the show, shared a promotional video of the show with Syrian dubbing on his Facebook page and commented, “Moroccan drama is flying high.”
