Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Morocco’s Prime Minister Aziz Akhennouch, lambasted opposition parties that sought to form an investigation committee to investigate the recent reports indicating Morocco’s importation of Russian gas.

During the monthly Q&A session in Parliament, Akhannouch considered that the opposition is creating a stream of “fake news in this file,” adding that there is theoretically “nothing preventing Morocco from importing Russian energy products,” further noting that “nothing prevents [Morocco] from importing cereals from Russia or Ukraine.”

Akhannouch considered that opposition parties are deceiving the Moroccan people because “international banks cannot finance the purchases of countries that importĀ  Russian products.”

“The opposition has magnified this,” said Akhennouch, further stressing that “there are no irregularities in this file.”
