Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan government is preparing to release new laws and regulations for the Competition Council, which is expected to address issues of price fixing and anti-competitive practices in the petroleum sector.

The laws are set to be discussed and approved by the government this week. The head of the Competition Council has previously stated that a decision on the petroleum sector case will be made after the new regulations are in place.

The government has faced huge criticism for delays in releasing these regulations, but officials have denied any intentional obstruction.

Once the new laws are implemented, the Competition Council will be able to address complaints related to anti-competitive practices in the Moroccan market.
