Moroccan Prime Minister meets with Chinese delegation to strengthen strategic partnership

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- On the evening of May 11, 2023, the Prime Minister of Morocco, Aziz Akhannouch, received Zao Ligui, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, who is on a working visit to Morocco with a high-level delegation of Chinese officials.

During their meeting, they discussed various aspects of cooperation between the two countries and praised the quality of the long-standing friendship and mutual respect between Morocco and China.

They also noted the important level of partnership between the two countries, which was established during King Mohammed VI’s official visit to China in May 2016, and expressed their shared desire to diversify and expand it to include new strategic sectors.

The talks also covered regional and international issues of mutual interest, and the two sides expressed their support for each other’s positions on the countries’ territorial integrities in international forums. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Cooperation, Nasser Bourita, also attended the meeting.
