Al Adl wal Ihsane group, a banned but tolerated political movement in Morocco, strongly condemned in a statement the one-year prison sentence given to Rached Ghannouchi, the leader of the Tunisian Al Nahda Movement.
They believe it is “an unfair ruling that undermines Tunisia’s democratic progress.”
The group demands Ghannouchi’s “immediate release and the release of all political prisoners in Tunisia.”
Al Adl wal Ihsane stressed “the need to respect the will of the people and restore the country’s democratic path.”
