RABAT- The annual “African Lion” military operations, a collaboration between the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces and the US Army, are slated to commence on June 2nd, continuing through to June 16th. With a vibrant turnout, this year’s exercise will feature an estimated 8000 soldiers from 27 countries.
The primary location for this significant event is the Mahbes area, with notable plans to include training on the “HIMARS” launchers, an advanced military artillery system Morocco acquired recently.
Designed as a multidimensional exercise, these maneuvers aim at enhancing defensive capabilities against cross-border threats, aiding in the fight against terrorism, and improving operational coordination during crises.
Importantly, it seeks to foster a greater sense of security and stability within the region.
The “African Lion” operations are also a testament to the robust military cooperation between Morocco and the USA.
