Morocco is observing National Vaccination Week from the 22nd through the 26th of April, much like the rest of the world. The Ministry of Health and Social Protection stated that this observance underscores the importance of vaccination in promoting public health. This event seeks to raise awareness about the importance of vaccinating children as it serves as an effective preventive measure against infectious and deadly diseases, including some cancers.

This year’s National Vaccination Week coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Expanded Vaccination Program, which highlights the positive impact of vaccination on public health and its role in preventing numerous diseases and saving many lives.

The Ministry stressed that Morocco ensures safe, effective, and free access to 12 types of vaccines for children nationwide, following guidelines from the World Health Organization and the National Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee on Vaccination.

This event mobilizes all actors, civil society, health professionals, and all partners to engage actively. In cooperation with UNICEF, the Ministry has created a series of communication supports to be launched at national and regional levels to ensure the reach of awareness messages to all segments and achieve the goals set for this event.
