The Prime Minister of Morocco, Aziz Akhanouch, has announced an upcoming project linking the Al Makhazen Dam and the Dar Khrofa Dam. The project’s objective is to secure the water supply needs for the Greater Tangier area and its surroundings, which is estimated to have a population of 1.3 million.

Akhanouch stated that the project, costing 840 million dirhams, will be completed within no more than 10 months and will also secure irrigation water for an area of 21,000 hectares.

He made these remarks while presenting his government’s half-term report to a joint session in front of the members of both houses of parliament.
