According to an interview granted to Hespress, the Moroccan International Adil Taarabt said “he did not receive any call from the Moroccan Coach Badou Zaki”. He further explained that “the phone number that the Royal Federation of Moroccan Football (FRMF) still possesses is an old one, which he used when he played for Queens Park Rangers in England”.
Mr Zaki declared in a press conference on Friday that AC Milan’s star Adil Taarbat was not called upon for the preparatory camp in Portugal due to “Taarabt’s unresponsiveness to the multitude of phone calls made”.
Through his remarks to the same source, Adil Taarabt expressed a great desire to carry the national jersey, saying: “How is it possible that I answered the interim coach’s call, Hassan Benabicha, and not the current coach, Badou Zaki”.
The AC Milan star has also expressed that he is still interested in playing for the National team, declaring: “I am ready to carry the Moroccan national team’s jersey at anytime, anywhere, because it is my country and I love it and I am pleased to wear that shirt in order to represent my country at best during the next African Cup of Nation”.
