Lahcen Haddad: Morocco strives to be among top 20 tourist destinations in the world

Moroccan Minister of Tourism Lahcen Haddad said during a regional gala organized by the World Travel Awards in Athens, that Morocco is firmly determined to become one of the top 20 destinations for tourists in the world.

He noted that the  Morocco is increasingly becoming more attractive and popular, and this thanks to its strategic geographic location, its political and social stability and its attractive environment for business. He also cited the weather, Moroccan’s hospitality, a rich and diverse culture and the diversity in its geographic scenery as some of Morocco’s advantages in the field of tourism.

Morocco has already reached 10 million tourists in 2012 and is seeking to double the number by 2020. Morocco is also striving to multiply the income from tourism by 2.5.
