According to the Moroccan daily Al Akhbar, the Spanish authorities have successfully dismantled a gang that managed to introduce to “Morocco no fewer than 265 stolen Mercedes cars.”

The said gang, which is composed of 4 members who belong to the same family, managed to bring from Europe to Morocco Mercedes cars, to hand them afterwards to various Moroccan mechanics who managed to change the vehicles’ identification numbers, as well as other identifiable elements within the cars.

Thereafter, the gang either managed to sell the said vehicles in the Rif region of Morocco or even in Algeria and Mauritania.

According to the Spanish authorities, La Guardian Civil arrested last Friday the said elements in Melilla.

“During the last two years, the gang successfully introduced to Morocco 265 Mercedes cars,” Al Akhbar said.
