Crystal Palace announced this morning that Marouane Chamakh has signed a contract extension with the club.

The club’s official website reports that Moroccan international has put pen to paper on a two year contract.

The experienced striker, 30, joined Crystal Palace from Arsenal during summer 2013 on a free transfer to become a regular fixture at the club.

Chamakh scored six goals and delivered four assists in 34 appearances for Palace last season. His last season was marked by a transformation in position anchored by coach Tony Pulis.  The coach played him in many positions including striker, behind the main striker, and central midfielder.

Back in May 2013, Chamakh confirmed it had always been his intention to stay at the club.

He said: “My first choice would be to continue my adventure with Crystal Palace. My priority is to stay here.

“The adventure here is not over. We’ve had a good season and built something really, really strong. I hope that will continue,” Chamack closed.
