As reported by mainstream media, Oussama Assaidi’s transfer to Stoke City -after a successful one year loan spell arriving from Liverpool FC- is stalling because of wage disagreements.

The Potters thought they had finalized the deal by getting the Reds to agree a £7m bid for the Moroccan international. The bid includes a £4.5m fee upfront that would potentially rise to £7m.

According to various sources Oussama’s salary demands have actually stunned Stoke and the deal has been put in jeopardy. Stoke City have refused the player’s demand considering it unrealistic.

The club has been in talks with Liverpool for the past 10 days and it is reported that they are ready to look elsewhere if a deal cannot be reached swiftly. This stalling gives Assaidi over a month to find a new club if both the player and Stoke stand their ground.

Unfortunately for him and the Atlas Lions, he his already missing pre-season preparation as Stoke are playing a friendly match today against 1860 Munich.
