Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- On the sidelines of the labor day celebration that took place in Casablanca, an event that was boycotted by some labor unions close to the opposition, the head of the Moroccan government Abdellilah Benkirane hit back at Driss Lachgar’s [the Secretary General of the USFP] recent statements that followed the monthly general policy session of the Moroccan Parliament.

“I won’t resign from my duties as the head of the government because if I do, I will clear the way to someone who is mired in corruption [referring to Hamid Chabat] and a member of a criminal gang [Driss Lachgar] to take over, and this latter can be described as ‘the tyrant of the Union Socialist of Popular Forces party’..,” Benkirane said.

“How could we expect good from the one who did not do good even to Abderrahman Youssoufi, the former Secretary General of the USFP,” Benkirane said.

“Indeed. How could we expect good from the one who did not even do good to the late Ahmed Zaidi, the former chairman of the parliamentary group USFP” Benkirane stressed.
