Rabat, Morocco (TMT)-In light of the International Labor Day celebration in Morocco, the Head of the Moroccan Government, Abdelilah Benkirane threw a spotlight on some issues that received recently important media coverage in Morocco as a result of growing abuse of power from some Qaeds and their local aids.

“The Moroccan authorities should know that they are responsible before Allah (God), that they should apply the law without abuse, and that they should stop putting us to shame [in front of the Moroccan people], and I am referring here to the case of that one [a Qaed] who sneaked into a married couple’s bedroom [trying to have sex with a married wife].”

“I feel very sad that the couple was jailed, even though they blackmailed the Qaed [They recorded a video of the Qaed half naked inside the couple’s bedroom], especially that the Qaed was released from custody,” Benkirane said.

“It is unreasonable to sue the husband and his wife, while the Qaed is enjoying liberty,” Benkirane stressed.

Concerning the old woman who burnt herself after suffering from a Qaed’s injustice, Benkirane said that “what happened to the poor old woman in Kenitra is unfortunate,” further noting that “even if she arguably broke the law, the authorities should not beat her, nor humiliate her.”

“The authorities should not humiliate people,”Benkirane angrily said.

“We don’t want a new Bouazizi [The young Tunisian man who triggered the Arab spring after burning himself],” Benkirane added.

“We don’t want anyone to burn himself.

“We don’t want anyone to set the match that will burn the motherland,” Benkirane closed.
