Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The head of the government, secretary general of the PJD party, Abdellilah Benkirane said in an interview given to Al Arabi that “King Mohammed VI gave me guarantees that the upcoming elections will be free and fair.”
Among others, Benkirane stressed that he trusts King Mohammed VI, further stressing that if he [Benkirane] were not to trust the king, then he wouldn’t be in the government in the first place, let alone be active in the Moroccan political scene.
“Trust is the basis of the state,” Benkirane said.
“If something unusual happens [election fraud], then it will show up,” Benkirane added.
