Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Some members of the Royal Air Maroc crew declared today a 48 hrs strike, following an unsuccessful meeting with the company’s management last night.

Royal Air Maroc is calling upon its customers to check the company’s website or to call the following number: +212 522 48 97 97 for flights updates, as well as to get in touch with sales offices in airports, stressing that their employees are fully mobilized to provide customers with all necessary information and updates about the situation.

The striking employees work for Royal Air Maroc’s subsidiary, Atlas Multiservices group.

Royal Air Maroc said in a communiqué, The Moroccan Times received, that it is “very  surprised by this decision, given that the meeting [with the striking crew] took place in a responsible climate and that the two parties have agreed to resume their dialogue.”

Royal Air Maroc described the strike decision as “wild” and “illegal,” one that aims to “take hostage the company’s passengers without notice.”
