Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan and Spanish authorities have started preparing for the “Marhaba 2023” operation, which is expected to be launched in June and which sees million of people cross between the European and African continent.

In this context, the first meeting was held in Algeciras last week between the directors-general of the Moroccan and Spanish merchant navy, and representatives of the ports of the Algeciras, Tarifa, Tangier-Med, and Tangier City.

Sources explained that the aim of this meeting is to discuss in detail the “Marhaba 2023” crossing operation, which will run from June 15 to September 15.

It is worth mentioning that the “Marhaba” operation in 2022 saw the influx of more than 3 million Moroccan expatriates after a two-year mandatory break due to the repercussions of the “Corona” pandemic.
