Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Republic of Cape Verde has reiterated its support for the Moroccan autonomy plan in the Western Sahara region. This announcement was made in a joint statement issued after the second session of the High Joint Commission for Cooperation between Morocco and Cape Verde.
The statement recognized the Autonomy Plan proposed by Morocco as “the only practical and realistic solution to the regional conflict.”
The two countries also commended the efforts of the United Nations to find a lasting solution to the conflict.
Cape Verde expressed its support for preserving the territorial unity of the Kingdom of Morocco, under the exclusive auspices of the United Nations.
It is worth reminding that Cape Verde opened a consulate in Dakhla in June 2022.
