Child electrocuted in Qal’at al-Sraghna: Activists call for increased safety measures

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- On Tuesday, a child in Qal’at al-Sraghna (also spelled Kalaat Sraghna), approximately 116 kilometers (72 miles) south of Casablanca, was electrocuted while playing in the central square of the city.

The incident occurred when he accidentally touched one of the exposed wires on an electric pole.

The boy was immediately rushed to the emergency department of the regional hospital to receive the necessary treatment.

Local activists are calling on the authorities to conduct regular inspections of electrical installations and ensure that they meet safety standards.
