Morocco Elected to Lead International Narcotics Control Board

Agadir, Morocco (TMT)- Morocco has been elected to lead the International Narcotics Control Board, an agency responsible for monitoring the implementation of UN drug control treaties.

Professor Jallal Toufiq, who has been a member of the board since 2015, was elected as the new president.

The International Narcotics Control Board is a group of experts established under the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs.

The board produces an annual report analyzing data from governments and international organizations to ensure the implementation of drug control agreements and propose enforcement mechanisms.
