Casablanca, Morocco (TMT)- Morocco’s tourism industry has rebounded impressively as of March 2023, with the total number of nights spent in classified tourist establishments increasing by a staggering 161% compared to March 2022. This surge is largely attributed to a remarkable 366% rise in non-resident tourists and a 29% increase in resident ones.

While some cities like Marrakech, Tangier, Essaouira, and Rabat saw a surge in the number of nights spent, others like Casablanca and Agadir witnessed a decrease.

Moreover, Morocco’s travel revenues from non-resident tourism have increased significantly to MAD 25 billion in the first quarter of 2023, an impressive 51% rise when compared to 2019.

The country’s tourism industry appears to be bouncing back robustly, with the surge in travel revenues indicating a sustained recovery.
