The Justice and Development Party has called on the Ministry of Interior in the Parliament to conduct an urgent and comprehensive investigation into the tragic events that took place during a football match between Raja Casablanca and Al Ahly of Egypt in the African Champions League.

The match, held at Mohammed V Stadium on April 29, resulted in a violent stampede and the unfortunate death of a female fan, Nora Zoubair.

This party is not the first to demand authorities to investigate the incident. Nabila Mounib’s party, PSU, made stronger demands, even putting the blame on the authorities.

The group has raised several questions regarding the responsibility of the “Casa Event,” company which is responsible for organizing and managing stadium entry.

The PJD parliamentary group believes that the company’s performance fell short of the expectations of Moroccan football fans.

The party has expressed serious concerns regarding the company’s financial and organizational performance, despite receiving significant funds for each match. They raise doubts about the company’s ability to fulfill its responsibilities effectively.

Furthermore, they question the adequacy of ticket distribution and sales processes, as well as the company’s handling of preventing numerous ticket holders from entering the stadium, resulting in gate confusion.
