RABAT-According to a statistical report by the World Health Organization (WHO), an alarming average of seven individuals are reported to end their lives each day in Morocco. This unsettling trend was observed in the data gathered between the years 2016 and 2019.

The report sheds light on the fact that each year, approximately 2,600 Moroccans are driven to suicide. This translates to a tragic occurrence of one person succumbing to their inner turmoil every 3.5 hours.

Scrutinizing the data further reveals a significant gender disparity in these suicide rates. Moroccan men are almost twice as likely to commit suicide compared to women, affirming historical trends in the country.
