Rabat – King Mohammed VI nominated today Fouzi Lekjaa, the Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget and the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, to lead the committee responsible for Morocco’s bid to host the 2030 Football World Cup.

As follow is the translation of the communiqué shared today by the Royal Office:

“King Mohammed VI has assigned the presidency of the committee responsible for nominating Morocco to host the 2030 World Cup in the framework of the joint nomination of Morocco – Spain – Portugal, to Fouzi Lekjaa, the delegated Minister in charge of the budget, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.

“On this occasion, His Majesty the King, may God assist him, affirmed that this joint nomination, which is a precedent in the history of football, is a symbol of unity and connection, bridging the geographical and cultural divides between Africa and Europe, the North and the South of the Mediterranean, as well as between the African continent, the Arab world, and the broader Euro-Mediterranean region.

“It also encapsulates the spirit of unity, celebrating the unique strengths each participating nation brings, and stands as a testament to the collective brilliance, creativity, and the merging of diverse experiences and capabilities.”
