A freelance Dutch journalist that goes by the name Rik Goverde has been kicked out of Morocco.
“I’m being expulsed from Morocco as we speak. Police took me this afternoon when I was walking to the bank, took me to the police station and said they had orders to kick me out. No official reason given,” the Dutch journalist said in a Facebook post.
“They’re putting me on a boat to Algeciras right now. From there, I’m on my own. We’ll speak soon! But probably not in Morocco,” Goverde added.
Goverde worked in Morocco for the last two years.
Local reports say the man did not have a license from the Moroccan authorities to exercise legally as a journalist in Morocco.
