Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Maroc Telecom said in a statement that a greater demand on its network has been witnessed since the start of the quarantine.

Maroc Telecom said internet usage has surged by up to 30%.

One of the main reasons behind this surge can be related to people shifting to working at home, more use of social media platforms and entertainment services such as Netflix and online video games.

Also, more students are now increasingly accessing educational material online.

Maroc Telecom stressed this surge will have no impact on its infrastructure and the quality of service, further noting that its infrastructure can absorb more traffic than that currently witnessed on the sidelines of the coronavirus outbreak.
