Nine bodies were discovered early Friday morning on the shores of Bani Bougaffer in Nador, Morocco.

The deceased were migrants who tragically lost their lives when their small vessel, intended for clandestine migration, capsized. Their objective was to reach Melilla.

Six of the deceased were Moroccans, primarily originating from areas close to Nador. The remaining three bodies were identified as migrants from Sub-Saharan African countries.

Representatives from local authorities and security forces were dispatched to the scene.

They oversaw the transportation of the victims’ bodies to the morgue at the Hassani Hospital in Nador.
