Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan Minister of Interior Abdelouafi Laftit said in the wake of a meeting in the House of Representatives at the Moroccan parliament, held yesterday, that 5.1 million families in Morocco have benefited from financial aid, monetary help funneled through Morocco’s COVID-19 special fund.

Laftit stressed that 800,000 people, on furlough, benefited from the state’s financial help as they are affiliated to Morocco’s national social security fund, well-known under its French acronym CNSS.

Laftit went on further to say that 2.3 million families adhering to the Ramed regime, the country’s subsidized health insurance scheme for poor and vulnerable Moroccans, also benefited from financial help.

The Moroccan Minister of Interior also noted that “two million non-Ramed households” benefited from the aforementioned financial help scheme.
