The Moroccan Consulate in Tripoli was the target of an attack carried out by an armed group, according to local sources. No casualties were reported according to a governmental source.

The alarm was raised on Facebook by a Moroccan resident in Libya. A government source confirmed the news, pointing out that there were no victims. According to some sources, the consulate has been touched by missiles in armed faction exchanges between some rival armed groups.

Several foreign embassies have been the target of attacks in the recent few months. The deadliest was the one carried out against the US embassy in Tripoli. Back in 2012, the sad event resulted in the death of the American ambassador to Libya in 2012.
