Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Party of Justice and Development (PJD) started this morning the negotiation phase in view of building a government coalition.

In this view, Morocco’s head of the government and leader of the Party of Justice and Development Abdelilah Benkirane, joined by the deemed-party’s no.2, Saad Eddine El Othmani, a former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, welcomed to the PJD party’s headquarters in Rabat the secretary General of the Popular Movement (MP) party, Mohand Laenser, including another member of the political bureau of the MP party.

The Popular Movement (MP) won 27 parliamentary seats in the wake of the last general elections, while the PJD party took the lion’s share, 125 seats.

The Moroccan Times believes that the PJD is expected to form a coalition with the leftist Party of Progress and Socialism (12 seats), Al Istiqlal party (IP), with its 46 parliamentary seats, as well as the the Popular movement party (27 seats).
