Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Hind Al-Ratal Benani, a member of the Legislative and Justice Committee of the Moroccan Parliament, has criticized the government’s decision to import 100,000 sheep during the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday.

She stated that the primary beneficiary of this project would be large investors and big farmers who would import these sheep, enjoy tax exemptions, buy them at lower prices, and sell them in the local market at higher prices.

Benani also criticized the Prime Minister’s continued justification of the current economic crisis by pointing the finger at the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, drought, and the impact of COVID-19. She argued that the government’s role is to deal with various challenges and find solutions to them, not to justify them.
