Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan Association for Human Rights, well-known under its French acronym AMDH, said in a communiqué it is condemning all cases of abuse of power committed by members of the Moroccan authorities amid the nationwide curfew measures.

AMDH said all documented cases “involve exaggerated abuse of power in a dangerous and humiliating manner,” considering that such behaviors are “morally, and humanly unacceptable, and cannot be justified by any means.”

In its communiqué, the AMDH also referred to the case of a member of the local authority slapping a journalist on her face, including the case of a 60-year-old woman who passed away following the demolition of her house, among other cases.

AMDH called upon the Moroccan Ministry of Interior to investigate all those cases and prosecute those responsible, including enacting measures to avoid falling in similar dehumanizing scenarios.
